Journal Entry
Use Journal Entry for accounting entries that don't come from a CIRMS transaction, for example accruals or corrections. Each entry has lines with an Account, Debits and Credits, and total debits must equal total credits.

For buttons, statuses and approvals shared by all transactions, see Working with transactions.
How to create a journal entry
Required permission
Others › Journal Entry › Create
- Open Others › Journal Entry and click ⊕ (Add New Transaction).
- Check Created For and add Remarks.
- Add a line for each account: choose the Account, enter the Debits or Credits amount, and optionally a Description, Party Type and Name.
- Check that Total (Debits) equals Total (Credits).
- Click Save ▾ and choose Save, Approve or Approve and Print.
Example
At month end the accountant records June's depreciation: one line debiting Depreciation Expense 12,000.00 and one crediting Accumulated Depreciation 12,000.00. Total (Debits) equals Total (Credits), so it can be approved.
